Deputy General Counsel, Hospital Operations, Henry Ford Health System
GENERAL SUMMARY:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develops or assists in the development of budget recommendations;
· Manages outside counsel in transactional matters; and
· Provides legal advice in support of the strategic direction of the organization in the following areas: state and federal regulatory matters; physician contracting including acquisitions, independent contractor relationships, PSAs, and clinically integrated networks; day to day legal advice on Stark, the anti-kickback statute, and fraud and abuse laws.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Juris Doctorate (JD);
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in a major law firm or corporate legal department advising in the areas noted above;
- Ideal candidate has managed a team of lawyers in-house or in private practice; and
- Must possess strong initiative as well as excellent management, team-work, delegation and problem-solving abilities.
