Project Coordinator - Health Alliance Plan - Troy (full-time)
General Summary:
Responsible for the development, analysis, and trending of membership and billing information. Act as a liaison between information systems, finance, marketing and other operational departments. Coordinate departmental projects, formulate needed enhancements for M & B processes, and work with internal and external customers to maintain the integrity of HAP’s membership, and financial data. Analyze and develop department reports– identify data integrity issues, system and programming problems, and work with management to develop and implement improvement solutions. Additionally, this position is responsible for activities related to project management/administration of cross-functional activities/initiatives that support Membership & Billings commitment to improve processes.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Work in concert with division leadership, to determine the appropriate focus and direction of major corporate initiative and projects.
Responsible for the design, development, and processing of GQL/Cognos queries used to assist in formulating trends and enrollment/premium reporting.
Development of electronic and automated membership and billing solutions and auto-reconciliation improvements.
Responsible for leading and serving on cross-functional teams across the organization focused around system reporting, cost savings, government mandates, strategy development and new product implementation.
Project management/coordination activities to ensure all process workflows are being handled within the established time parameters by both internal departments and outside vendors.
Perform administrative follow-up by keeping track of major projects and tasks assigned by Departmental Leadership.
Responsible for facilitating all M & B “FEHB” reporting, auditing and eligibility functions requirements in the Membership & Billing department.
Participate and/or facilitate continuous improvement workshops with the staff, inter- departmental staff meetings, and other forums aligned with the improvement of departmental/corporate processes.
Work in concert with M & B leadership on all operational open enrollment initiatives and planning.
Develop and maintain strong professional relationships across operational departments and with both Internal and External Business Partners.
Assist in monitoring of the numerous internal Membership/Billing system interfaces, error report completions, employees quality and quantity measures and work with the appropriate internal contacts or teams that can help resolve them
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
- Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field
Experience Required:
- Two (2) years of Managed health care business related experience.
- One (1) year experience developing, analyzing, interpreting & trending data.
- One (1) year project management/coordination and/or system implementation experience.
Skills and Abilities:
Completion of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and GQL testing required.
- Ability to research, analyze, interpret, trend, and implement process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership and presentation skills
- Ability to collect and prepare data for written/oral presentation – report creation and generation
- Ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization
- Well defined problem solving and decision making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of business principles and functions
Detailed Knowledge of Xcelys and Support Module functionality
Proficient knowledge of Windows – Excel and Access
Knowledge of EDI processes
Proficient at using various data sources to develop relevant reporting tools, and to use those tools to enhance processes and procedures.
