EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

High School Diploma or GED.

Up to 2 years of post-high school training, such as in business school, community college, or equivalent.

Experience using basic office equipment, e.g., multi-line phones, calculator, fax, copier, printers, and other general-purpose office equipment.

Ability to function at professional level in a demanding environment.
-
Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
-
Ability to handle a multitude of tasks simultaneously while maintaining focus and effectiveness with minimal supervision.

Ability to prioritize in order to handle high volume workload.
-
Proficiency in a variety of computer software programs and/or systems, including email, electronic calendar, word-processing, spreadsheets, database management, and excel.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Must be self-directed and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills (including prioritizing and delegating) and superior organizational skills.

Ability to work flexible schedule is required, including occasional early morning, evening and weekend work.
Preferred Qualifications:

Associates Degree or equivalent formal education.

3 – 5 years of related experience, including progressively responsible administrative support roles.

Understanding of department services and medical terminology.
