GENERAL SUMMARY:
Administrative accountability for leading, managing, developing, supervising, and evaluating all aspects of patient care. Manages and collaborates relationships with leadership members, physicians, for the care of responsible patient populations. Assures professional, clinical, and educational excellence in the provision of quality care to patients. Facilitates empowerment of staff in the implementation of creative and innovative patient care delivery models and stimulates a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach in the continuous improvement of patient care services. In conjunction with the Unit Medical Director, assumes responsibility for fiscal management of the unit.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or completion of other formal nursing education necessary to obtain/maintain an advanced practice nursing Michigan license (mid-wife, CRNA, CNS, or Nurse Practitioner is required.
- Masters Degree in Nursing, Business, Health Management or other related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an acute care setting with progressive nursing leadership responsibilities.
- Knowledge of quality management and service excellence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills that provides coaching and facilitation expertise.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Demonstrates innovative, creative leadership style.
