A new in-patient Nurse opportunity is now available for the Neuro/Stroke Intermediate Step down Unit at Henry Ford Hospital in midtown Detroit. This unit is expanding with additional monitored beds for Neuro acute stroke patients.
• Position: 36 hours per week
• Shift: Midnights 7 pm to 7:30 am / every other weekend schedule after training
• Benefits: Full time Henry Ford benefits
UNIT OVERVIEW:
• This is an acute stroke unit and a Neuro intermediate care unit with unique skill set.
• Patient mix includes post tpa stroke cases.
• Inpatient nurses with one year of experience are sought for this unit. Will accept newly licensed nurses who desire to learn Neuro/Stroke critical care medicine.
• Henry Ford Hospital is a Comprehensive Stroke Designated hospital, and a National Institutes of Health Stroke Care & Research Center.

Catheter associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI’s) have continued to decrease for the last 4 years.
Nurses are educated and trained on fall prevention procedures and hospital acquired pressure injuries (HAPI’s).
The hospital has a designated PICC team who continually work to decrease central line associated blood stream infections (CLABSI’s).
A designated IV team within the hospital does the majority of IV insertions.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensed RN in the State of Michigan.
• One year of in-patient experience is preferred. Previous Neuro experience is preferred.
• Current BLS/ACLS certifications
