This position fills a Monday - Friday part time (20hrs) role from 8am-12pm.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Help Desk Associates provide technical assistance to end-users using computer systems supported by the Service Desk.  This support is provided via telephone by answering simple questions, resetting passwords and utilizing call escalation procedures for unresolved problems.  This position may also perform tasks and assignments required by other departments.  This position requires a major portion of time sitting, speaking on the telephone, typing, and includes working shifts scheduled throughout a 24-hour day, evenings, weekends, and holidays.  Position will require various shifts.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in the maintenance of records and filing systems; types and/or enters data into computer systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, database, or specialized software packages.
  • Supports the administration of programs, projects, and/or processes specific to the organizational unit served.
  • May serve as an administrative liaison with others within and outside the company regarding administrative issues within area of responsibility.
  • Performs semi-complex work within area of specialization.
  • Interprets documented rules, past practices, or instruction on a semi-independent level.
  • Effectively identifies problems as they occur and takes appropriate steps to solve them in situations where the problem is not difficult or complex, or follow the escalation process.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of vocational technical training or technically based work experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years of successful experience in a customer service or support role preferred.
  • HDI or ITIL familiarity preferred.
  • Specific experience in the Help Desk, Technical Support, or Call Center field preferred.
  • Health Care support experience preferred.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Possess strong analytical, prioritization, and organizational skills. 
  • Attention to detail and all security/privacy practices and procedures.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Familiarity with the applied use of Information Technology in a business setting
