Mgr-Clinical Research
- The Manager of Clinical Research (MCR) is a Registered Nurse who is accountable for leading, managing, developing, supervising and evaluating the delivery of patient care within their designated area(s).
- The MCR will have supervisory responsibilities over the research clinical and clerical staff.
- This will entail the hiring, evaluations, coaching, disciplinary and termination of personnel.
- In collaboration with the Principal Investigator, the MCR will interact with Human Resources, Research Administration and departmental administration on personnel related issues.
- The MCR is responsible for monitoring the financial status of multiple research grants, sub contracts, and consultant and service agreements in multiple areas utilizing proper accounting procedures in areas such as basic and clinical research.
- The MCR will assist the Principal Investigators in the preparation of research grants, with specific responsibility for the preparation of budgets and budget justifications in compliance with internal and external agency guidelines.
- In conjunction with the Administrator, assumes responsibility for fiscal management of clinic/department.
- Provides clinic leadership and works in partnership with nursing, the health care team and leadership to assure quality patient care.
- Care is provided in accordance with departmental, Henry Ford Medical Group and health system policies and procedures.
- Facilitates empowerment of staff in the implementation of creative and innovative patient care delivery models and stimulates a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach in the continuous improvement of patient care services.
- Bachelors Degree in nursing or related
field required.
- Masters Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or equivalent is preferred.
- Three to five
years of progressively more responsible experience demonstrating
leadership skills in a clinical setting is required.
- Some examples
include: Grant Manager duties, Leadership of special projects such as
Service Excellence teams; Quality Improvement initiatives, Clinic
Process Redesign.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage complex clinical, administrative and interpersonal problems.
- Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Maintains
professional competency through review of current literature, attendance
at educational programs, and participation in professional
organizations.
- CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- Current license to practice in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse. Successful completion of Henry Ford Medical Group Pharmacology test. Current BLS/ ACLS required.
