Psychiatric Social Worker Full Time Days - Kingswood
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Social Worker works with the psychiatrist and interdisciplinary team in developing and managing treatment plans. Serves as liaison in relation to patient care and needs, between the hospital, community, and insurers to facilitate assess to clinical treatment for individuals. Provides social services to both adult and child/adolescent patients. Services include, but are not limited to: bio-psychosocial assessments, discharge planning, individual and family education, group therapy and utilization review. Social workers also serve on designated committees and as qualified, may serve as field instructors for social work interns. Social Workers act as patient advocates to ensure that the quality of care is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient and equitable.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Graduation from an accredited school of social work with a Masters Degree.
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective social work care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional social work services.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
- CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Social Work with at least the Limited License Master Social Worker.
