Under supervision from the Principal Investigator (PI), develop and conduct moderately complex animal or rodent behavioral testing, interpret data, identify potential problems, and find solutions. Schedule and coordinate complex time point experiments and arrange calendar for behavior testing for 15 + Senior PIs and numerous junior scientists on Federal, agency and contract projects for the Department. Research literature in the field. Conduct experiments and collect and analyze data using various degrees of statistical methodology, spreadsheet (Excel) and ANY-Maze software. Ensure compliance with animal care and occupational safety regulations (IACUC) and good laboratory practices to adhere to the National Institute of Health's (NIH) rigor and transparency requirements. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Requires a Bachelor's degree program in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or Molecular Biology, or a closely related field to be familiar with research terminology and scientific techniques. Highly motivated and organized. One to three (1-3) years of relevant post-baccalaureate experience. Requires the manual dexterity to operate complex equipment. Familiarity with statistical and research methodology is desirable.
